Growing our own foods and some flowers for the first time …

As you may saw IG, we got our own little garden in the city. It is so exciting for us because we never had a garden to take care of. Such a cute place, it has a little tomatoe house, a tiny cabin and a place where you can make barbeque. A beautiful escape from screens, work and the crazy world. I never had a green thumb but I am eager to learn. It feels very natural to grow your own food and at the same time I am astonished (and a bit emberassed) about myself that I dont know anything about it. Actually I am used to farming just through my grandparents. Sadly I was too young nor interested back then to learn more about it. We always had fresh berries, cucumbers, potatoes, eggs, salad and so much more and I didnt really appreciate it back then. Only when my grandparents died and the basement, still filled of big and small jars with boiled down fruits and veggies, shrinked day by day, it gave me a very melancholic feeling (that I still carry on in my belly).Thats maybe, why I want to learn everything about growing food and farming and gardening. Hopefully I can meet my own expectations and enjoy the process.Actually I already sow out some chillis and salad at home, and they grow very well so far. Its like magic to me. If it gets warmer we will transfer them to the tomatoe house or the cold frame in the garden.

Our garden in the city inspired me for a garden themed illustration series. If you would like to see the rest of the garden series you are very welcome to check out my portfolio.

It is still not completely worked out, but I would highly appreciate your feedback!
