First steps in Morph Loop Animation
As you may know, besides illustration and painting, I am fascinated by animation graphics since forever! Happily I stumbled over a new very exciting class on Skillshare that teaches “Morphing Loops” hosted by Giulia Martinelli, she is a very skilled illustration artist, animator and director based in Zurich. You should check her works on IG.
Morphing loop animation - Sounds super fancy but it just means to transform an object into the form of another object. Above you can witness my very first motion graphic. YEY! Actually this was the warm up exercise of the class, to understand whats going on when morphing a star into a moon to get the idea of the entire concept.
I worked in the Procreate App. The onion skin function of their animation asistent is key here. It gives you the chance to learn and understand what you are doing without the thousands of functions other animation software comes with. Anyway it is super easy to get lost and confused in the drawing process so I was happy to try it in Procreate first before I will move on to work with After Effects. The process is really fun (if you like drawing a lot haha) but you need much patience and practice to make more complex morph designs.
