Inside my Studio - October
Dear lovely people
The days grow cooler, the cups glow warmer. Green melts into gold, red, and brown, while my creative spirits rub their drowsy eyes of summer one last time. Autumn has arrived!
Some days, I feel a deep sense of nostalgia—a homesickness for a time and place that no longer exists.
To give this feeling some space, I’ve tried to remember the things I didn’t even know I would miss so dearly. I remember countless hours spent in the garden with my grandparents: harvesting ripe fruits, feeding the chickens, and carefully collecting the still-warm eggs from the nests. Forever in my memory is the scent of summer hay, and the rare joy of riding on the big wagon. Running through fields, petting rabbits and picking sweet blackberries.
Particularly, preserving fruits and vegetables from the garden is something I strongly associate with my grandparents. Recently, I’ve rediscovered the joy of pickle & preserving for myself. Filling jars of goodness brings me back to my grandmother’s farm, to the moments when I would watch her as she carefully harvested cherries and crisp cucumbers, preserving them to last for months.
I’ve also dived back into one of my favorite Skillshare courses, creating a vintage label design for a matchbox.
