November
Dear lovely people!
Brrr… it’s cold and grey outside. Are you one of those people who don’t like November? Well, hold on — I have to insist: it’s actually the best month of the year! Why? Because it’s my BIRTHDAY MONTH, YUHUU! And yes, your girl is a Scorpio… so watch out, and be careful around here. 😏
Crisp mornings, grey afternoons.
November invites us to slow down, reflect, and gather warmth from the small things, a cup of tea, a quiet moment, a handful of glowing stars in our pockets.
This month, I’m excited to share a few creative sparks, some studio updates, and a glimpse of what’s been inspiring me lately.
For a few months now, or maybe ever since mybaby was born, I’ve felt a deep urge to slow down and change some habits that quietly slipped into my life since smartphones became a thing.
I don’t know about you, but my phone is so deeply woven into my everyday life.
I listen to music with it, pay with it, check the weather, read my emails and messages, make appointments, shop online, plan my days, check my bank account and insurance, use a shared grocery app, scroll social media, fact-check, get the news… and so much more.
As my little one becomes more aware of the world each day, I feel a growing need to simplify everything. And honestly, it’s not just because of him — it’s because I’m realizing how overwhelming all this noise has become for me.
I want to feel the texture of a book or a magazine again, enjoy a lovely cake-and-coffee moment without taking a photo of it, get my news from a newspaper or the radio instead of scrolling endlessly between funny reels, emotional stories, inspiring posts, and terrifying headlines — all within seconds?! That can’t be good for our brains, and especially not for sensitive souls.
So I asked myself: How can I spend less time on my phone?
The first step, since my old kitchen radio broke, was to wish for a new one for my birthday (my favorite stations btw. are HR2 Kultur and SRF Kultur <3).
Beyond that, I’ve come up with a few ideas to be more present in the real world again.
And as you know, cool girls don’t gatekeep (hihi) — so I’m very happy to share my ideas with you.
Maybe you’ll find some inspiration too.
Happy November to you! 🍂
To be more present, I’ve started sketching in mysketchbook again 🙂 I’d love to get back to a daily habit of documenting my day with fun little doodles. Every time I look back at pages from years ago, I remember the day so intensely. Somehow, I can completely dive back into the energy of that moment, and I love it! So why not preserve more memories like this?
Another thing, cause lately I’ve been completely into vintage cakes, I started a little project: illustrating the cakes I loved and remember from my childhood. Maybe, once it’s finished, it could become a poster… or even a cute birthday card? So far, I only have two cakes completed… I really wish my days had 48 hours. 😅
Talking about cake… I somehow forgot to take a photo on my birthday, so I share one from last year haha :D
Aaaand of course, I couldn’t resist taking this chance to illustrate a dreamy, creamy, wonky birthday cake in Procreate.
Hey! Before you go… I’ve got some birthday treats for you too! ✨ Brighten up your gloomyNovember with my “Glowing Star” Wallpapers. <3
Hope this month brings you calm, quiet moments, and a handful of glowing stars in your pockets. Try to take some time offline, just you and a cup of tea, a doodle in your sketchbook or a walk without your phone.
